1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed

3 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 lemon

Salt and pepper, to taste

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Blanch the Green Beans: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and let them cook for 3-4 minutes, until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately plunge them into an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain again thoroughly.

    Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

      Add Green Beans: Add the blanched green beans to the skillet. Toss them in the garlic-infused oil for about 3-4 minutes, allowing them to warm through and get slightly crispy.

        Season and Flavor: Sprinkle the lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) over the green beans. Toss well to combine, allowing the flavors to meld for about another minute.
