Ingredients

For the Dough:

2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

¾ cup warm milk (110°F)

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon salt

2 eggs

4 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling:

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon milk (optional for consistency)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and eggs. Mix in the melted butter and the yeast mixture. Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth. Fold in the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, ensuring they're evenly distributed.

Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle (about 16x12 inches). Spread the filling evenly over the dough.

Shape the Rolls: Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Cut into 12 equal pieces (about 1.5 inches thick). Place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, leaving space for them to rise.

Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.

Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake them for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden brown.

Prepare the Frosting: While rolls are baking, beat together the cream cheese and softened butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until well combined. If needed, add a splash of milk to reach desired consistency.

Frost the Rolls: Once the rolls are removed from the oven, let them cool for about 10 minutes before generously spreading the cream cheese frosting on top.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy the delicious blend of cinnamon, chocolate cookies, and creamy frosting!
