1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup sugar (for coating)

2 teaspoons cinnamon (for coating)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.

    Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly combined.

      Combine the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well blended.

        Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter may be slightly lumpy, which is fine.

          Prepare the Pan: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Use a spoon to create a swirl pattern in the batter.

            Add the Topping: In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter in the loaf pan.
