Ingredients

2 cans of refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (with icing included)

6 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls: Open the cans of cinnamon roll dough and cut each roll into quarters. Place the quartered pieces in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading them out evenly.

Mix the Custard: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine: Pour the custard mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish, gently pressing down to ensure all pieces are soaked in the mixture. If using, sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top for added crunch.

Chill (Optional): For an even richer flavor, cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour (or overnight for extra convenience).

Bake: Remove the plastic wrap if chilling. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Add Icing: During the last 5 minutes of baking, take the icing included with the cinnamon rolls and briefly warm it in the microwave. Once the casserole is out of the oven, drizzle the icing over the top.

Serve: Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
