Ingredients

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

Powdered sugar for dusting

Red and green sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.

Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to mix until well combined.

Add in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing until fully incorporated.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

The dough will be quite soft and sticky; that’s perfectly normal! Chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.

Once chilled, scoop tablespoons of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat generously.

Place the powdered sugar-coated balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Gently press down each cookie with the bottom of a glass or your hand to flatten slightly.

Top each cookie with red and green sprinkles for that festive look!

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft. Don’t overbake!

Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
