Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

1 cup milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional, for topping)

Ice cream or whipped cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the Peanut Butter Layer: In a medium bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little bit of milk to make it easier to spread.

Mix the Cake Ingredients: In another large bowl, whisk together the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and milk until well combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy—over-mixing can lead to a tough cake.

Layer the Ingredients: Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom. Then, dollop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture on top of the batter, spreading it gently but leaving blue spaces in between.

Add Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the peanut butter layer, then pour the remaining chocolate cake batter over the top, spreading it gently to cover.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool & Serve: Allow the cake to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. If desired, top with chopped peanuts for added crunch. Serve slices warm with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra treat!
