Ingredients

1 cup graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and halved

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Prepare the Base: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and a pinch of salt. Mix until the crumbs are thoroughly coated in butter. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form an even layer.

Add Coconut Layer: Sprinkle the coconut flakes evenly over the graham cracker crust.

Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the coconut layer, ensuring it is evenly distributed.

Layer the Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle the semisweet chocolate chips over the condensed milk layer, covering it as evenly as possible.

Add Cherries: Scatter the halved maraschino cherries over the chocolate chips, pressing them down gently to ensure they stick.

Optional Nut Layer: If using, sprinkle the chopped walnuts or pecans on top of the cherries for added crunch.

Bake the Bars: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the chocolate is melted.

Cool and Slice: Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool completely at room temperature. For quicker cooling, you can place it in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Once cool, use a sharp knife to cut into bars or squares.

Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy these delicious Chocolate Covered Cherry Magic Bars as a delightful dessert or snack, either chilled or at room temperature. Drizzle leftover chocolate over the top for an extra treat!
