1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Cheesecake Layer:

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for tang)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Make the Cookie Dough: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

      Prepare the Cheesecake Layer: In another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract, flour, and lemon juice until the mixture is completely smooth.

        Layer the Ingredients: Spread half of the cookie dough evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour the cheesecake filling over the cookie dough layer, spreading it to the edges. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining cookie dough on top of the cheesecake filling. Use a knife to swirl the cookie dough into the cheesecake for a marbled effect.

          Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. The top should be golden brown with a slight jiggle in the center.
