Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

2 tbsp sesame seeds

3 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.

Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the flour mixture. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to marinate.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Ensure the oil is hot but not smoking.

In small batches, fry the chicken pieces in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the sauce.

In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium and pour in the sauce, stirring until hot and bubbling.

Add the fried chicken to the pan, tossing well to coat each piece in the sauce.

Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken and mix until evenly distributed.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
