Chicken Cordon Bleu is a classic dish that has graced the tables of many families and restaurants alike. Originating from Switzerland, this dish traditionally consists of chicken breasts stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese, then breaded and baked to perfection. The combination of tender chicken, savory ham, and melty cheese creates a delightful flavor profile that has made Chicken Cordon Bleu a favorite for generations. Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients
  

4 cups cooked rotisserie chicken, shredded

8 slices of ham, diced

8 slices of Swiss cheese, shredded

2 cups cooked egg noodles

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup Panko breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Layer the Chicken: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded rotisserie chicken, diced ham, and half of the Swiss cheese. Mix well.

      Prepare the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.

        Combine: In a large casserole dish, layer the cooked egg noodles at the bottom. Top with the chicken and ham mixture. Pour the sauce evenly over the entire dish.

          Add Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining Swiss cheese on top of the casserole.

            Prepare Breadcrumb Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs with the melted butter, mixing until the breadcrumbs are coated.

              Top with Breadcrumbs: Evenly spread the Panko mixture over the cheese layer.

                Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

                  Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
