Ingredients

1 large loaf of crusty bread (such as Italian or French)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, dried oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper until well combined.

Place the loaf of bread on a cutting board. Using a serrated knife, cut the bread into a grid pattern, making horizontal and then vertical cuts, ensuring not to cut all the way through to the bottom.

Carefully pull apart the pieces slightly to create gaps for the filling.

Brush the melted garlic butter mixture generously into the cuts of the bread.

Stuff the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese into the cuts of the bread. Make sure to distribute the cheese evenly throughout.

Wrap the loaf in aluminum foil, sealing it tightly to keep the steam in.

Place the wrapped bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Carefully unwrap the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden brown.

Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm, pulling apart each cheesy piece as you enjoy!
