Cheesy Penne with Garlic Butter Ground Beef

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

8 oz penne pasta

1 lb ground beef

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup beef broth

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Beef: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Garlic and Seasoning: Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using) with the beef. Cook for another 2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Let it reduce slightly for about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Combine Pasta and Cheese: Add the cooked penne to the skillet and stir to combine. Remove from heat and mix in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the pasta is well coated.

Serve: Divide the cheesy penne into bowls, sprinkle with fresh basil, and enjoy your delicious dish!
