1 large loaf of fresh Italian or French bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 teaspoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

      Slice the Bread: Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise, creating two long halves. You may cut the halves into smaller sections if you prefer.

        Spread the Mixture: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over each half of the bread. Make sure to cover it well, so every bite is packed with flavor.

          Add the Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered side of each half. Feel free to add extra cheese if you love it cheesy!

            Bake: Place the bread halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.

              Finish & Serve: Once done, remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, and garnish with extra chopped parsley. Cut into slices and serve warm!
