32 oz frozen French fries

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)

1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (or diced ham)

1/2 cup chopped green onions (plus extra for topping)

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Prepare the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth.

      Layering: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, pour half of the frozen French fries, spreading them evenly across the bottom.

        Add the Mixture: Spread half of the sour cream mixture over the fries. Then, sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and green onions on top.

          Repeat Layers: Add another layer of the remaining French fries, followed by the rest of the sour cream mixture. Top it off with the remaining cheddar cheese and additional Parmesan cheese.

            Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

              Garnish: Once done, let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with additional chopped green onions and fresh parsley if desired.
