Ingredients

2 cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 large eggs

1 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)

1 cup fruit topping (like strawberries, blueberries, or cherries)

Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Cooking spray or butter, for greasing the dish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Unroll the first can of crescent roll dough and lay it flat in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together to seal them.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add in the granulated sugar and mix until well combined.

Add the vanilla extract, eggs (one at a time), sour cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest (if using). Beat until the mixture is creamy and smooth with no lumps.

Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll layer in the baking dish.

Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and lay it over the cream cheese mixture. You can tear it into pieces or leave it in sheets, whichever you prefer.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cream cheese filling is set.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes. Once slightly cooled, add your fruit topping of choice over the top.

If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving. Cut into squares and enjoy warm or chilled.
