Cheese Tortellini Party Snacks

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 package (9 oz) refrigerated cheese tortellini

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style preferred)

Olive oil spray

Instructions

Cook Tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.

Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked tortellini, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, chopped basil, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix gently until the tortellini are well-coated with the cheese and seasonings.

Form Bites: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Take a small amount of the tortellini mixture and carefully wrap it with an additional tortellini, pinching the edges together to create a little cheese-stuffed pocket. Repeat until all the filling is used.

Coat with Breadcrumbs: Place the breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Gently roll each tortellini bite in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Bake: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the coated tortellini bites on it. Spray them lightly with olive oil spray to help them crisp up. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
