Ingredients

2 cups granny smith apples, peeled and diced

1 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 package refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon sugar (for sprinkling)

Whipped cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Apples: In a medium bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Toss until apples are well coated. Let sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Biscuit Dough: Open the biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Flatten each biscuit into a disc using your hands or a rolling pin.

Assemble the Bombs: Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each flattened biscuit. If desired, add a drizzle of caramel sauce and a sprinkle of chopped pecans. Carefully fold the edges of the biscuit around the filling and pinch to seal tightly. Roll gently in your hands to form a ball.

Apply Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the egg. Brush the tops of the dough balls with the egg wash to give them a golden finish once baked.

Sprinkle with Sugar: Sprinkle a small amount of sugar over each pie bomb for added sweetness and crunch.

Bake: Place the assembled pie bombs on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

Cool and Serve: Allow the bombs to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a serving platter. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce and serve with whipped cream if desired.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 8 bombs
