Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 medium bell pepper (diced, any color)

1 small onion (diced)

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup chicken broth

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Optional: red pepper flakes (for extra heat)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about ½ cup of pasta water.

Season the Shrimp: In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, ensuring they are well coated. Set aside.

Sauté the Vegetables: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic, diced onion, and bell pepper. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are soft and onions are translucent.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until shrimp turn pink and opaque, stirring occasionally. Remove the shrimp and vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer. Let it thicken slightly for about 3-4 minutes, then add Parmesan cheese, whisking until melted and smooth.

Combine: Return the cooked shrimp and vegetables back to the skillet. Toss everything together with the sauce, ensuring the shrimp and pasta are well coated. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

Season and Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan if preferred.
