Cabbage Beef Bake

1 medium head of green cabbage, cut into wedges

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)

1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon paprika

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent (about 5 minutes).

      Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

        Stir in the cooked rice, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let simmer for 5 minutes to combine flavors.

          In a large baking dish, arrange the cabbage wedges in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper.

            Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the cabbage wedges, covering them thoroughly.

              Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture.

                Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

                  After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

                    Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired before serving.
