Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

1 lemon (zested and juiced)

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Lemon slices, for garnish

Olive oil, for drizzling

Fresh dill sprigs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: In a baking dish, lay out the salmon fillets skin-side down. Drizzle with a little olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

Make the Butter Mixture: In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and chopped fresh dill.

Drizzle the Mixture: Pour the buttery lemon dill mixture evenly over the salmon fillets, making sure they are well-coated.

Add Lemon Slices: Place a lemon slice on each of the salmon fillets for added flavor and presentation.

Bake the Salmon: Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. If you prefer a slightly crispy top, you can broil for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end.

Finish with Butter: While the salmon is baking, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the small saucepan over low heat.

Serve: Once the salmon is done, drizzle the melted butter over the top and garnish with additional fresh dill sprigs, if desired. Serve with your favorite side, such as asparagus or quinoa!
