Ingredients

1 pound breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of your choice)

1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg (for egg wash)

Cooking spray or parchment paper (for baking)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with cooking spray.

Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon until it’s browned and fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess grease.

Mix Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions (if using), garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Prepare Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. You should have triangles of dough. Separate them carefully.

Fill Rolls: Place a generous tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Roll the dough away from you, starting from the wide end and tucking in the sides as you go to encase the filling. Pinch the ends to seal them.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg until smooth. Brush the egg wash over each crescent roll for a nice golden finish.

Bake: Place the filled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Cool & Serve: Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm for the best flavor!
