Ingredients

1 package of breakfast sausages (links or patties)

1 can of crescent roll dough

1 large egg

1 tablespoon milk

1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Maple syrup, for serving

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

If using sausage links, cook them in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through (about 8-10 minutes). If using patties, just cook until browned on both sides. Let them cool slightly.

Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean, lightly floured surface. Press the seams together to form a single sheet.

Cut the dough into triangles as per the dimensions on the package, typically at least 8 triangles per roll.

Place one sausage at the wide end of each triangle and roll the dough around the sausage, starting from the wide end and working towards the tip. Make sure to tuck the tip under the rolled piece to secure it.

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Brush this mixture over each sausage roll.

If you’re using everything bagel seasoning, sprinkle it over the top of each roll for an extra crunch and flavor boost.

Place the rolled sausages on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.

Once done, remove from the oven and let cool slightly before transferring to a serving plate.

Garnish with chopped chives, and serve warm with a side of maple syrup for dipping.
