Ingredients

1 batch of croissant dough (store-bought or homemade)

10 breakfast sausages (links or patties, cooked)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon honey (optional, for drizzling)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: If using store-bought croissant dough, unroll it and cut each triangle in half lengthwise to make smaller triangles for wrapping.

Mix the Fillings: In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.

Assemble the Pigs in a Blanket: Place a cooked sausage on each triangle of croissant dough, spreading a spoonful of the cheese mixture on top of each sausage. Roll each triangle around the sausage, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the pointed end. Make sure the cheese mixture is enclosed and set aside.

Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the rolled croissant dough with the beaten egg to achieve a golden color when baked.

Bake: Place the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

Finish with Honey: If desired, drizzle a bit of honey on top when the pigs in a blanket come out of the oven for a sweet and savory twist.

Serve: Let cool slightly, then garnish with chopped chives before serving warm.
