Ingredients

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 of a bourbon vanilla bean, seeds scraped out

1 tablespoon bourbon

A pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

Chill Your Equipment: Before you start, place a mixing bowl and the beaters or whisk in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes. This helps the cream whip up better.

Combine Ingredients: In the chilled mixing bowl, pour in the heavy whipping cream. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, scraped seeds from the bourbon vanilla bean, bourbon, and a pinch of sea salt (if using).

Whip the Cream: Using an electric mixer on medium speed, whisk the mixture for about 2-3 minutes. Then increase to high speed and continue whipping until soft to medium peaks form. Be sure not to over-whip, as you don’t want it to turn into butter!

Taste and Adjust: Taste the whipped cream. If you’d like it sweeter, gradually add more powdered sugar and whip until combined. Adjust your bourbon flavor as desired, adding a tad more if you prefer a stronger kick.

Serve: Use immediately on your favorite desserts like pies, cakes, or pancakes, or store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Give it a gentle stir before serving if it has thickened.
