Ingredients

1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

¼ cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 cup chicken broth

¼ cup brown sugar

¼ cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons bourbon

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Chicken: In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces in flour, ensuring each piece is well covered. Set aside.

Heat Oil: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the chicken broth, brown sugar, soy sauce, bourbon, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes.

Combine: Return the browned chicken to the skillet and stir to coat with the sauce. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Serve: Garnish the bourbon chicken with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve it over steamed rice or with stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
