Ingredients

For the Sloppy Joe Filling:

1 lb ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons mustard (yellow or Dijon)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Secret Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

A pinch of salt and pepper

To Assemble:

4 hamburger buns (sesame seed recommended)

Shredded lettuce

1 cup American cheese, shredded

Dill pickles, sliced

Instructions

Prepare the Secret Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Cook the Sloppy Joe Filling: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until well browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Combine Ingredients: Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes to allow flavors to meld, stirring occasionally.

Assemble the Sloppy Joes: Toast the hamburger buns lightly until golden brown. Spread a generous amount of secret sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture generously over the sauce.

Top with Vegetables: Add a handful of shredded lettuce, a sprinkle of shredded American cheese, and a few dill pickle slices on top. Cap with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Serve your Big Mac Sloppy Joes immediately with extra secret sauce on the side for dipping, if desired.
