Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper, diced (any color)

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

1 cup beef broth

2 cups cooked elbow macaroni

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

Add Vegetables: Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

Combine Ingredients: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, cooked macaroni, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, allowing flavors to combine.

Layer in Baking Dish: Transfer the beef and pasta mixture into a greased 3-quart casserole dish. Spread evenly and sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.

Bake: Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired. Enjoy!
