For the cheesecake filling:

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 large eggs

1 ripe banana, mashed

1 teaspoon lemon juice

For the banana pudding layer:

1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix

2 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ripe banana, sliced

For the topping:

1 cup whipped cream

Additional banana slices and crushed vanilla wafers for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the crust:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

      - In a medium bowl, combine the vanilla wafer crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until well blended.

        - Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even crust.

          - Bake for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.

            Make the cheesecake filling:

              - In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar together with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

                - Add the vanilla extract, eggs one at a time, and beat until well combined.

                  - Stir in the mashed banana and lemon juice until fully incorporated.

                    - Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust and spread it evenly.

                      Bake the cheesecake:

                        - Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, until the center is set but slightly jiggly.

                          - Turn off the oven and crack the door, allowing the cheesecake to cool in the oven for an hour.

                            - Once cooled, refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight.

                              Prepare the banana pudding layer:

                                - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth.

                                  - Add the vanilla extract and stir well. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.

                                    - Spread the banana pudding layer over the chilled cheesecake.

                                      - Decorate the top with sliced bananas.

                                        Finish with whipped cream:

                                          - Gently spread whipped cream over the banana pudding layer.

                                            - For garnish, sprinkle crushed vanilla wafers and add a few slices of banana.

                                              Serve and enjoy!

                                                - Carefully run a knife around the edges of the springform pan before removing it. Slice and serve chilled.
