Banana Fudge

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1 cup sweetened condensed milk

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Parchment paper (for lining the pan)

Instructions

Begin by lining an 8x8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to make removal easier later.

In a medium mixing bowl, add the mashed bananas, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Pour the melted chocolate into the banana mixture and stir until fully combined. If you're using walnuts, fold them in now.

Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm. For a quicker set, you can place it in the freezer for about 1 hour.

Once set, use the parchment paper to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
