4 large croissants

200g (7 oz) sliced ham

200g (7 oz) sliced Swiss cheese

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Ham and Cheese: In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard and honey. Set aside.

      Assemble the Croissants: Slice each croissant in half lengthwise. Spread the honey-Dijon mixture on the inside of each croissant. On the bottom half, layer a couple of slices of ham and cheese. Replace the top half of the croissant.

        Brush with Butter and Season: In another small bowl, mix the melted butter with the garlic powder and black pepper. Brush this mixture over the tops of each assembled croissant.

          Egg Wash: Using a pastry brush, apply the beaten egg over the top of the croissants to give them a beautiful golden finish.

            Bake: Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are bubbly and golden brown.

              Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, then garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious baked ham and cheese croissants!
