Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1/2 cup buttermilk (or regular milk + 1/2 tsp vinegar)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed and drained)

Optional: Glaze made from 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.

Blend Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the granulated sugar and egg until light and fluffy. Stir in the buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Blueberries: Gently fold in the blueberries, ensuring they’re evenly distributed without breaking them apart.

Fill the Pan: Use a piping bag or a Ziplock bag with the corner cut off to fill the donut pan cavities about 2/3 full.

Bake: Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean. They should be lightly golden.

Cool: Let the donuts cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Glaze (Optional): For a sweet touch, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze. Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the glaze and let them set on the rack.

Serve: Enjoy your delicious baked blueberry donuts with a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage!
