Ingredients

1 sheet of thawed puff pastry

1/2 pound ground beef

4 strips of bacon, chopped

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup pickles, diced

1 tablespoon ketchup

1 tablespoon mustard

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Salt and pepper to taste

Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.

Brown the Beef: In the same skillet, add the ground beef and chopped onions. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.

Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef and onions, crispy bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, diced pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Mix thoroughly.

Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into a large rectangle (approximately 12x15 inches).

Assemble the Roll: Spoon the meat mixture down the center of the pastry, leaving about 2 inches of space on each side. Fold the sides of the pastry over the filling, then roll it up from the bottom to top to enclose the filling. Pinch the edges to seal and tuck the ends underneath.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place the roll seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with extra ketchup and mustard on the side if desired.
