Ingredients

2 large sweet onions (such as Vidalia or Walla Walla)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon milk

1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Cooking spray (or olive oil spray)

Instructions

Prepare the Onions: Peel the onions and slice them into ½-inch thick rings. Carefully separate the rings and set them aside.

Set Up Breading Station: In one bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined. In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese.

      Bread the Onion Rings:

        - Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, ensuring it's well coated.

          - Shake off excess flour and then dip the ring into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.

            - Finally, coat the ring with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat with all onion rings.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

Arrange in Air Fryer: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the breaded onion rings in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Cook the Onion Rings: Spray the tops of the onion rings lightly with cooking spray. Cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Adjust cooking time as needed for your air fryer model.

Serve: Once done, remove the crispy onion rings from the air fryer and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces such as ranch, ketchup, or a spicy aioli.
