Ingredients

2 medium firm apples (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon granulated sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Apples: Start by washing the apples thoroughly. Core and slice them very thinly, about 1/8 inch thick. A mandoline slicer can be helpful for uniform slices.

Mix the Coating: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground cinnamon, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

Toss the Slices: In another bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice to prevent browning, then add the cinnamon-sugar mixture and coat evenly. Ensure each slice is well-dusted.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for about 3-5 minutes.

Air Fry the Apple Slices: Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. You may need to do this in batches.

Cooking: Air fry the apple slices for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Keep an eye on them after 10 minutes to avoid burning.

Cool and Crisp: Once they are golden and crisp, remove the chips and let them cool completely on a wire rack. The chips will continue to harden as they cool.

Serve and Store: Enjoy your delicious and healthy cinnamon apple chips immediately, or store them in an airtight container for up to a week.
