Ingredients

1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin, sliced thinly against the grain)

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon liquid smoke (optional for extra flavor)

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust based on spice preference)

1/4 teaspoon ginger powder

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: Freeze the beef for about 1-2 hours until it’s firm but not completely frozen. This makes it easier to slice. Slice the beef into thin strips about 1/8-inch thick.

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, and ginger powder. Mix well. Add the sliced beef, ensuring it is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for deeper flavor.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 160°F (70°C). If your air fryer does not have a temperature setting, use its dehydrate function if available.

Arrange the Beef: Remove the beef from the marinade and pat it dry using paper towels to remove excess moisture (this helps in achieving the right texture). Place the strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overlap them.

Air Fry the Jerky: Cook the beef in the air fryer for 4-5 hours, checking every hour or so. The jerky is done when it is darkened in color, flexible but not brittle, and has a slight chew to it.

Cool and Store: Once cooked, allow the jerky to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container. It can be kept at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerated for longer shelf life.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Marinating Time: 4 hours (or overnight) | Total Time: 5 hours | Servings: Approximately 4-6 servings
