1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a microwave-safe mug (12 oz or larger), add 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 4 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix them together well using a fork to ensure there are no lumps.

    Mix in Wet Ingredients: Add 3 tablespoons of milk, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir until you achieve a smooth batter with no dry patches.

      Add Chocolate Chips: If desired, fold in 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips for an extra gooey center.

        Microwave the Cake: Place the mug in the microwave and cook on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds. If your microwave has lower wattage, you may need to increase the time to about 2 minutes. Keep an eye on it—the cake should rise but not overflow.

          Check and Cool: After microwaving, let the mug cake sit for about 1 minute. It will continue cooking in the mug and firm up a bit.
