1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)

2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

2 tablespoons sugar

4 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Activate Yeast: In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

    Mix Ingredients: Add 3 cups of flour, salt, melted butter, garlic powder, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese into the yeast mixture. Stir until combined.

      Knead the Dough: Gradually incorporate the remaining flour until a soft dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

        First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 15-20 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.

          Shape the Rolls: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

            Second Rise: Cover the rolls with the towel and let them rise for another 10 minutes so they puff up slightly.
